This is a hybrid management/contributor role and we're looking for empathetic managers with a technical background to support and coach our engineers.

What would you be working on

As an engineering manager, you will spend around 40% of your time on management activities including 1-2-1’s to ensure your team have clear goals and development plans which both challenge and help them grow. Mentoring/coaching the team to be high-performing with a bias towards action and helping grow the overall engineering team team by interviewing and supporting hiring of new engineers.

The rest of your time there are a number of features you could be working on. Much of our development effort right now is focused on internal tooling, which we very much treat as a first class citizen: for example, we use the same product development process for the internal tools as we do for the customer facing website.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

Your goal will be to provide new customers with the most fair and transparent valuation and advance for their home. Specific tasks will include:

  • Own the customer valuation process, accurately valuing properties using desk based analysis (comparable analysis, speaking to local estate agents) and visiting the property and local area - you won't be tied to your desk in this role
  • Analyse local market dynamics, trends, and property saleability, which form a crucial part of the advance.
  • Present valuation recommendations and market liquidity findings for sign-off and discussion
  • Apply both a quantitative and qualitative approach to valuation, taking particular consideration of buyer profiles
  • Create customer offer letters, which transparently communicate our valuations and local market assessments
  • Have an influence in the decisions of how to improve our valuation process, including working with the engineering team to create tools which cut down the lead time between an inbound valuation and making a customer an advance offer
  • Work with these fine folk to help build a world class team

The role

You will report into our Conveyancing Manager. On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Be responsible for managing the advance process for your assigned cases through rigorous process management
  • Liaise effectively with the vendor’s solicitor and ensure that matters are progressed within Nested’s required timelines
  • Anticipate and solve problems early in the process
  • Make judgement calls on case issues within Nested’s legal risk framework and know when to escalate issues

The role

You will report into our Head of Underwriting. On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Be responsible for assessing structural risk for properties Nested is looking to underwrite
  • Be responsible for designing the surveying function, capacity planning, and reporting
  • Manage the quality of work of external surveying partners
  • Manage SLAs with our external surveying partners
  • Survey and value risky properties
  • Work with valuation team to re- value properties that don’t sell

We're looking for an ambitious Sales Negotiator who is passionate about providing excellent customer service and is hungry to help build an industry defining service. The role

You will be responsible for delivering against ambitious instruction targets, whilst providing an outstanding experience to all prospective customers. You will report to the Head of Commercial and will work closely with the Head of Portfolio Sales to optimise the end to end customer journey. This role is varied, on a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Provide a WOW experience - offering impartial advice, handling customer expectations, discussing customer queries, overcoming objections, and ultimately closing new business
  • Establish a deep understanding of each customer’s requirements and act as a trusted advisor to match the appropriate features of the Nested model to meet those needs
  • Be the face of Nested. You'll be visiting our customers in their homes with a focus on developing the relationship and carrying out a final appraisal of the property
  • Offer advice on how our customers can optimally present their property to the market and work with our Agency team to propose the marketing strategy which will get them the best price
  • Share your objective view of the saleability of customer properties with our Underwriting team, enabling them to confirm final figures and advance amount which you will then communicate to the customer
  • Be stationed at our Clerkenwell HQ, but regularly heading out of the office to meet with new customers and carry out elementary visual inspections on their properties
  • Efficiently deliver our Sales Associates the information to negotiate the best possible sale price, whilst still being a point of contact for the customer when required

The role

  • Work as part of an agile engineering team that embraces collaborative working.
  • Develop and support our core hosting platform based on Google Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, CircleCI and more.
  • Develop tooling for enhancing our developers lives and happiness.
  • Work on reporting and alerting metrics via dashboards etc.
  • Dabble in new tech to help push the boundaries of what we’re building.
  • Get in at the early stages of our move to container based deployments.
  • Work with these fine folk to help build a great team

Senior Conveyancing Progressor

A smooth conveyancing process is a vital part of achieving our mission. We’re looking for someone that can efficiently manage our property sales from offer to completion.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

You will be responsible for managing the process of getting an offer to completion in the shortest time possible. Specific tasks will include:

  • Liaise effectively with all stakeholders in the deal, especially the buyer, seller and their solicitors and mortgage brokers
  • Have rigorous process management of the end to end conveyancing process
  • Anticipate and solving problems early in the process
  • Provide conveyancing advice to the valuation team
  • Issue contracts to new customers
  • Manage the process of paying out advances on properties not sold in 90 days

We’re looking for someone that can effectively understand how Nested can help solve the challenges faced by potential customers while providing a consistently exceptional experience.

We’re fundamentally changing the way that property is sold by providing an advance. This enables our customers to solve some of their most stressful personal situations, from securing the house of their dreams to rescuing a broken property chain. This role is the first step of the customer journey.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

Be the first point of contact for all customers, and the face of Nested. As such, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience for everyone that we interact with. As an early hire, you will have the opportunity to define and improve the qualification process as we continue to scale. You will work closely with our valuation and sales team to optimise the end-to-end customer journey and build an in-depth, nuanced knowledge of the London property market. This is a diverse and important role, which requires great organisation and time-management, an analytical approach, and truly excellent people skills. Specific tasks will include:

  • Engaging with all inbound customers, to determine their circumstances and whether Nested is best placed to help
  • Carrying out initial desk-top property valuations on a wide range of inbound leads: considering local market conditions and offering a preliminary view on expected sale price
  • Articulating the Nested proposition and answering questions regarding our service and process
  • Providing high-level valuation and sale advice for properties that fall outside our criteria

You will have the opportunity to be exposed and contribute to every aspect of the business from creating a scalable business model to making important strategic decisions and iterating on best practice methodology.
