An immaculately presented, raised ground floor garden flat, within a substantial and architecturally distinctive, detached Victorian house in a fabulously convenient location.
Entered via the grand communal entrance, the flats own hallway has useful high level storage cupboards and leads into one of the most magnificent reception rooms you will ever encounter. A stunning white marble fireplace dominates the room and is complemented by over-height skirting boards, ornate cornice and centre rose, wide splay bay with huge sash windows and opens into the well designed and expertly fitted kitchen which has a number of built in appliances and ample storage. In addition there are two double bedrooms, both with extensive storage cupboards. These are served by a modern shower room which is nicely finished. The flat enjoys a balcony with space for a breakfast table and chairs plus steps down to its own private 30' x 30' rear garden.
Clapham North underground station and Clapham High Street overground stations are just a 5 minute walk away whilst Stockwell underground is just 11 minutes away.
Some words from the owner:
What do you love about the property?
There are so many special things to love - the high ceilings, original hardwood floors, huge windows that attract the most beautiful light during the day, the original marble fireplace, the perfect patio for having leisurely breakfasts on the weekend and the large garden where I spent many long days in the summer and entertained friends and family. It's been a dream to live here.
Why are you moving?
I'm only moving as I'm upsizing to a house. It's a bittersweet move as I've loved every minute of living here.
What do you love about the area?
The flat is in a perfect location. Firstly, Chelsham Road is famous for its deep communal spirit, with many people living on the street for decades. It's a close-knit community, with neighbours always supporting each other. The street is quiet and feels very peaceful.
At the same time, we are minutes away from Clapham North and Stockwell tube stations and Clapham High Street Overground, getting you to almost anywhere in London quickly and efficiently.
We are minutes away from Clapham High Street, with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars. Clapham Common is only 10 minutes away and offers wonderful opportunities for outdoor activities.
I feel that I have everything I can possibly wish for just a short walk away - open spaces of Clapham Common, delicious restaurants, coffee shops, Picture house cinema, places to buy fresh produce, and the amazing Venn Street farmers market every Saturday morning. And central London is only 15 mins on the tube from the flat!
