What do you love most about your home?
The way that the period features combine with modern living. Our favorite room is the kitchen which opens out seamlessly onto the garden. We spend so much time as a family cooking, eating, playing and relaxing there all year round. It's also a great spot for entertaining with the afternoon and evening sun flowing through the leaves of the fig tree.
Why are you moving?
After over 10 years of living in Earlsfield, it is with a heavy heart that we look to leave this amazing area. However with our family growing, a desire to be closer to grandparents and other family means that we are ready to start the next chapter of our lives.
What do you love about the area?
I've never lived on a street like Ravensbury Road. Whilst there was a great community spirit beforehand, lockdown has seen it grow to the next level. Our street Whatsapp group has 130 members and sees people helping each other out. For example, just today someone posted that their son's school shoes hadn't turned up in time and within 10 minutes they had 3 people offering help! Our big annual event is the street party we have in June each year where traffic is banned and we let loose! Obviously being in the catchment area for Wimbledon Park Primary is incredible and we've been so impressed with the school during our son's time there. It truly deserves it's reputation as a great school.
There is so much green space around us that we're lucky to have. We have three big parks within 10 minutes walk including Wimbledon Park with all of it's facilities, beach volleyball anyone??
Finally Earlsfield itself. We've been here for over 10 years and seen incredible changes. Despite being so close and convenient for Central London, it retains a village feel and everything you want is on your doorstep. Highlights for us include restaurants like Well Kneaded Pizza, Roxie Steakhouse and Amarutha (London's no. 1 vegan restaurant). Our local butcher Dugard & Daughters is amazing and we also love DeRosier Chocolate Cafe!
