This home features a principal bedroom with a private balcony, a second double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, a large and bright kitchen-living room with floor-to-ceiling windows and wraparound balcony with river view, and bathroom with over-tub shower. The current owners have spent the last 11 years in the property and made numerous cosmetic upgrades over time, from luxury wall coverings to new kitchen cabinetry.
The property also benefits from a 24 hour concierge, allocated secure underground parking, lift, floor-to-ceiling windows throughout, and discounted use of facilities at the adjacent luxury hotel. There are also communal gardens with pond on the ground floor.
For leisure, the acclaimed Battersea Square is a short walk from your front door and offers fantastic options for eating and drinking, including the acclaimed Gordon Ramsay London House. For open green spaces, Battersea Park is within easy walking distance along the River Thames, whilst a wider array of shops and restaurants can be found on the King's Road in Chelsea. The Thames Path itself is directly adjacent to the building.
For transport, the Uber Boat to central London departs from the nearby dock whilst direct trains into central London and to national destinations (including Gatwick airport) are available from Clapham Junction, which is a short walk away. There are also a variety of bus routes available, a Santander Cycles docking station closeby and underground parking with allocated space.
Words from the owner
What do you love most about your home?
Our home is bright and spacious. With floor-to-ceiling windows in each room, the apartment is filled with light and seems even bigger than it is. And having not just one but two balconies, which wrap around the apartment, means that the living space actually extends outdoors. We also love the open-plan living which is equally great when it's just the two of us at home and when we have guests to entertain. The views are worth mentioning too: on the urban side, you get views of London landmarks such as The Shard and Battersea Power Station, while the real wow-factor are the sunsets over the river, which can be admired from one of the balconies.
For anyone who's conscious of high household bills - good news: this apartment is always warm, even in the winter, and we've rarely had to switch the heating on. Furthermore, hot & cold water supply is included in the service charge and the apartment comes with an allocated parking space in the underground car park, which is not only super convenient but also means there's no need to pay for resident parking permits.
And last but not least, having a concierge service in the building 24/7 is really handy: the concierge team accepts and stores parcels for us, holds a spare key that can be used by a cleaner and provides security, of course, among other things.
Why are you moving?
Whilst we've been really happy in our home in Battersea for almost 12 years, we're now looking for more space and seek the tranquility of the English countryside. As we've been working from home for over a year now, and the flexible working seems to continue in the future as well, we want to find a new home with a garden and more space for friends and family to visit.
What do you love about the area?
The property is in a fantastic area of London! Situated right by The River Thames, the beautiful river path is ideal for those (like us) who enjoy long walks or cycle rides. Heading East, Battersea Park is just a 15-minute walk along the river, if you like an occasional picnic in a park, and the shops and restaurants of King's Road and Battersea Power Station are only 20 minutes away (by foot), too. To the West, we have more services (bars, restaurants, retail, entertainment) in Putney and Wandsworth Town. We also have a couple of lovely restaurants and pubs on the river promenade near Wandsworth Bridge, and a stylish cocktail bar within the hotel that's part of the development. The hotel next door also offers luxury accommodation, restaurant, gym & spa - all of which residents can enjoy for 20% off standard prices. About a 10-minute walk away from the river, Northcote Road in Clapham Junction is a lively place for boutique shopping, eating, drinking and nights out.
We don't have firsthand experience of the local schools but Thomas's Battersea Prep School nearby is attended by the young Royals, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, so it can't be too shabby. :-)
The location is also convenient in terms of transport links. It's a 10-minute walk to Clapham Junction station with trains running to both Waterloo and Victoria every couple of minutes and we also have the Uber Boat service right on our doorstep, offering services to both directions between Putney and City of London.
