What do you love most about your home?
We love the clean lines of the house, the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, and the fact that everything just works so well. The apartment is over 2 floors with big rooms and wide hallways. This gives a sense of space and airiness which is often missing in apartment living. The open plan inside/outside living means that we BBQ our dinner every week, whatever the weather. It has been an incredible space to entertain friends in and was invaluable during the pandemic. We like bikes (as you will see) and there is plenty of storage in the flat as well as in the shared bike storage next to the communal access garden.
Why are you moving?
We're moving abroad for a couple of years with the plan of relocating to the West Country on our return. Moving away from Camberwell and London is a gut wrenching move and our home will be sorely missed.
What do you love about the area?
The Burgess Park area is such a vibrant place to be - it's packed with families, has three playgrounds within 500 yards, and the local nursery where our son goes is exceptional. Burgess Park is a perfect 5k run (with an ace Parkrun), and two banging coffee shops competing to tempt you into buying that croissant. Gym-going is easy with the nearest one only 2-minute walk away, next to Tescos Express. It's a 10-minute bike ride to Borough, Brixton, and less to Peckham. Buses to central London are frequent and a stone's throw away. It's a 6-minute walk to the heart of Camberwell where there is a small weekend market, and some fabulous wine bars, pubs and restaurants - the Camberwell Arms, Nandine, Silk Road to name a few favourites. We've also spent lots of time in Peckham with favourite haunts such as Peckham Bazaar and Franks, the Peckham swimming pool and soft play, and the cheapest cinema in London surely! If we're wanting something closer to home, our friend Frances in Cool and Cossy opposite the flat also does a mean Sierra Leoneon take-away. Lastly, there is a real community sense within the block, and we have some wonderful neighbours.

The area is well served by an array of vibrant shops, bars, cafes and restaurants in nearby Camberwell Church Street, as well as the pleasant open spaces of nearby Brunswick Park with tennis courts and beautifully maintained planting, and Burgess Park with lake and cafe. Camberwell Green itself offers regular Farmer's Markets, with Peckham Rye also nearby for a great selection of music venues and eateries.
