Comments from the owner:
What do you love most about your home?
There is a lot of natural light from the front to the back and we really love the view from the back of the house and garden - it doesn't feel like you are in London with that view and it's been amazing to watch the seasons change. The garden is south facing and it gets the sun all day which we've really made the most of. The deck (with the awning out over it) can feel like another room in the warm weather. The house has everything we've needed for the last two years (especially as we've spent so much time in it during the Pandemic!) as we've had plenty of space for our baby and we can still work from home. We really love the original sixties floors which really made us put an offer on the house when we first viewed it. And since we replaced the garage roof we have a secure place for bicycles and even more storage space..

Why are you moving?
Our family is growing and eventually we will need another bedroom for another child. We really don't want to move although we felt it best to do that before our son starts and settles in a primary school and we certainly plan to stay in the area.

What do you love about the area?
Forest Hill is such a South East London gem! Our high street is brilliant with a swimming pool and gym and local library within a two minute work from the house - we really get a lot of use out of these local amenities especially with our son and individually. Sydenham high street is close too with more pubs, cafes and shops. We also get great use out of the Horniman Museum and Gardens and really love to take visitors there (they are always very jealous this is right on our doorstep). There are so many brilliant local independent shops, cafes and pubs which really sets Forest Hill out compared to other local areas and all are family friendly. The transport links are also brilliant - the Overground is really reliable and regular with trains every 8 minutes to take you to East London and up to Highbury. You can also get into London Bridge in less than 15 minutes or down to Croydon and out to Kent easily too. As we have family in North London and in Kent Forest Hill is the perfect spot for us. Finally the local parks have been an absolute bonus the last two years. Within 15 minutes we can walk to; Sydenham Wells Park,Sydenham Hill Woods; Mayow Park; Crystal Palace Park; The Horniman Museum and closest to us is the hidden park - Baxter Fields. These are all gorgeous with great cafés and in some cases, amazing views of London and Kent which you really would not expect for zone three.
