Full description
A beautifully situated townhouse adjacent to the parks of Telegraph Hill with incredible views across the capital from the front and an exquisite secluded south-facing garden to the rear. The ground floor is currently used as a studio flat but has the potential to be an impressive workspace, home-office or re-integrated more fully into the house as a bedroom or living space. In addition to the main bathroom, the master bedroom on the second floor has an en suite shower room and walk-in dressing room. This is a light-filled, beautifully appointed family home.
Comments from the owner:
What do you love most about your home? The amazing views of London: incredible skies and sunsets. The high ceilings and feeling of space. The novelty of a sitting room on the first floor, with its large windows. We liked the quirkiness of the different levels and the position at the top of Bousfield Road. The courtyard-style back garden was designed by a landscape gardener and it is a lovely secluded, sunny spot. Having an additional large reception room on the ground floor gave us the possibility of a lodger who could live entirely apart from the rest of the household - equally, it would make an excellent home office or consulting room.
Why are you moving? We moved to Cambridge to work with the intention of returning after two years. As the children have now become established in their new schools and friendships we are reluctantly making a more permanent move.
What do you love about the area? In the heart of vibrant south east London, Telegraph Hill, with its tranquil streets of Victorian houses and two beautiful parks, is a peaceful enclave within easy reach of the town. The hill itself has a vibrant community centered on the Hill Station cafe (host to numerous evening pop-ups) and the weekly farmers' market; there is an annual arts festival as well as open studio events, outdoor film screenings, and even a community musical. There's a choice of excellent schools with both Edmund Waller and the highly regarded 4-18 Haberdasher Askes within a few minutes' walk. Public transport options are great too - Nunhead station is a couple of minutes away, and Queen's Road Peckham, Brockley, and New Cross Gate are all within walking distance. Nearby Nunhead Lane has a good range of independent shops including a fishmonger, butcher, and greengrocer, as well as a zero-waste store, and on the corner of Kitto Road itself is the friendly independent pub, Skehans, with its popular Thai restaurant.
