What do you love most about your home?
When we first stepped into the hallway, we really enjoyed how spacious it felt. We had previously rented a Victorian conversion which was freezing in winter and had no storage space. Realising we could own a place with TWO hallway cupboards and underfloor heating was a huge bonus. We also love having a patio garden, sitting out on warm days and watching the river traffic at high tide.
What do you love about the area?
Transport connections for the property are great . We have Maze Hill train station for central London and Thameslink trains, North Greenwich tube station for the Jubilee line, a 15 minute riverside walk will take you to Greenwich for the DLR and the Thames Clipper, and of course cycling along the Thames Path and the Quietway to Central London. If you have North/East London friends and have stayed out too late, you can also Uber back home via the Blackwall Tunnel.
Located in walking distance of historic Greenwich, Blackheath village and Greenwich Peninsula, there is so much to do! We love the variety of all the independent restaurants on Trafalgar Road, especially Columbian pop-up Balboa, the Sunday Farmers Market in Blackheath and the many pubs and bars in and around Greenwich and Deptford. Our favourite is the Plume of Feathers, hidden away next to Greenwich Park and its amazing roasts. There are plenty of walking opportunities along the Thames Path and in nearby Greenwich Park, with it's incredible views over London from the Observatory, and we really appreciated access to these green spaces during lockdown.
We have loved that Greenwich is such a lively place; the live music scene, the party atmosphere on Trafalgar Road as London Marathon runners hit mile 6, the best view in London of the Tall Ships Festival and being able to sneak a peek at sound checks for Greenwich Music Time Festival, all the while being located in a peaceful area beside the Thames.
Accommodation comprises entrance hall with two generous inbuilt storage cupboards and wood effect flooring with under-floor heating (evident throughout the property), leading into the bright and spacious, open plan reception/kitchen with direct access onto the delightful private patio/terrace, and ample space for both relaxing and dining. The kitchen area comprises a modern range of matching wall and base units with work surfaces incorporating inset sink unit, electric hob with overhead extractor and oven below, and further space for appliances. There are two well sized double bedrooms, plus a stylish family bathroom with white three piece suite and elegant tiling.
Added benefits include, 24 hour concierge, use of the tennis court and double glazing. Your earliest viewing is highly recommended. It's also worth mentioning that the block has just secured its EWS1 certificate with a B1 rating.
The property is ideally situated within easy reach of Maze Hill and Westcombe Park stations offering excellent links into Central London and the City. Numerous regular bus routes also provide connections to the surrounding area. Greenwich itself is just a short distance away with further overground and DLR connections, as well as an array of shops, fashionable bars, cafes and restaurants. Greenwich is also home to a variety of regular markets, the iconic site of the Cutty Sark and beautiful Greenwich Park with the Royal Observatory. The superb O2 Arena complex is also within easy reach providing unrivalled entertainment and leisure facilities including concerts, shows, cinema, restaurants, and bars.
