Current Owner's Comments: What do love about your home? Our favourite thing about our property is how spacious it is. As it is a maisonette, it is spread across two floors and has its own front door, making it feel like a little house. We have two large double bedrooms, both with plenty of space for a desk which has come in very handy whilst we have been working at home during the past few months. The master bedroom (and ensuite bathroom) has its own floor upstairs which makes it feel very private and quiet. The second bedroom also has its own bathroom, as well as big inbuilt storage cupboards, and we have rented it out to many happy tenants and friends over the years. The property is easily big enough for two couples living here. We have also really enjoyed hosting dinners and socialising with friends and family at Benwell Road. Unlike many flats, our property has a separate dining area and one New Year's Eve we sat 12 people at the table! The back sitting room is very quiet and sound proof - in fact we never hear our neighbours next door or above us, and we have never had complaints about noise either. As a relatively new build everything in the property works well. The double glazing means it is quiet and insulated. We also recently installed a new boiler and two new bathrooms. We love how well connected our property is. Holloway Rd Station (Piccadilly) and Drayton Park station are both a 5 minute walk away and Highbury and Islington Station (Victoria and overground) is a 9 minute walk away - which means we can get pretty much anywhere in central London within half an hour. Why are you moving? We are moving because we recently got married and are planning for a family in the future so are looking to upsize. But as we love the area so much - and all our friends live here now too - we are hoping to find a bigger property nearby! What do you like about the area? Since we moved here some amazing restaurants and bars have popped up in Lower Holloway, right on our doorstep. Our favourites are Zia Luccia (genuinely the best pizza in London), Provisions (an incredible wine and cheese shop), Xian Impression (a famous Chinese restaurant and takeaway) and Le Peche Mignon (a French cafe with incredible coffee and pastries). There's also Western's Laundry restaurant just round the corner if you're feeling fancy! We're a short walk away from Highbury Barn which has a great butcher, greengrocer and pub, as well as all the lovely shops, restaurants and bars on Islington's famous Upper Street. It's really special to have two such lovely green spaces so close by - Highbury Fields which is great for a picnic or dog walk and Clissold Park which is perfect for a run and a pint afterwards in the Clissold Tavern. We have really loved living in Benwell Road over the past few years. It's been the perfect property for fun times with friends and family in our 20s and 30s and we will really miss it!
