What Do I Love Most:
The location - you have pretty well everything within a 5-minute walk of the apartment: All banks + post office, bus, and rail/underground stations, theatre, and Stratford Picture House cinema. Stratford Central [the original shopping Centre] with Sainsbury's, Lidl, and lots of smaller shops + market traders with Stratford High Street and its additional market stalls at the other side. Stratford Westfield a big shopping mall with department stores and restaurants with the Olympic Park on the other side.
The apartment - is very spacious and light whilst the open-plan kitchen makes it possible to stay involved with conversations whilst entertaining. No being shut away in a separate room! The extra-large cupboard in the hall doubles as a mini-office.
The building had a resident concierge which enhances security and is a great facility for taking deliveries and allowing access to friends etc. The onsite Gym is great and the Cycle store is very convenient.
Why are you moving:
When we moved here from a 4-floor townhouse, which we loved, it was primarily because we recognized that we were getting older (both in our 70's) and 4 floors meant a lot of stairs. What we didn't take into account was the number of long-stay visitors we would have; this made us realize we would be better suited to a 3 bedroom property.
What do you love about the area:
The area is very diverse - a great variety of interesting restaurants together with old-style pubs. The Olympic Park plus lots of other outdoor places to walk/run/cycle and otherwise exercise
Without a doubt the transport links. It must be one of the best-connected areas in London:
2 DLR lines, 2 underground lines, 1 overground line, 1 TFL line [Kings Cross/St Pancras in 5 minutes direct], and National rail. 2 bus stations with routes to diverse destinations.
We travel a lot and there are fast/easy routes to all of the London airports [including Heathrow once Crossrail is completed.
Accommodation comprises an entrance hall with inbuilt storage, leading into the stunning, bright, and spacious, open plan dual aspect reception/kitchen with direct access onto the delightful private balcony and ample space for both relaxing and dining. The property is superbly located just moments' from Stratford and Stratford International stations, each providing unrivaled cross-London and inter-city connections, as well as numerous regular bus routes linking the surrounding area. The property is also ideally located for an array of shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants as well as the impressive Westfield Shopping center and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
