What do you love most about your home?

I have lived in the flat for almost 4 years and I love the original Victorian features, high ceilings and light. The house is in on a south-west aspect which means in mornings you get wonderful light in the front living room and in the afternoons you get it in the rear bedrooms. I love the little private garden which I turned from a simple beginnings into a sanctuary for relaxing summer BBQs, growing herbs and vegetables and reading a nice book. The small family that live below me are lovely people who are now dear friends.

What do you love about the area?
Hanwell is a lovely area with a ton of parkland to walk/ play sports, on your doorstep and there are two golf courses, covering hundreds of acres, just around the corner. This has been a saving grace, especially during the Covid lockdowns. The local park even has its own petting zoo and café, which has become highly popular activity with my nephew and nieces! There are plenty of little cafes and shops within short walking distance. In fact one of the best artisan bakeries is a 5 min walk from the flat! Transport links to Ealing Broadway and central London are excellent. Hanwell also has its own annual free rock festival, with over 14,000 people pouring into town for live music at its various great pub venues. It is evident that Hanwell is becoming a trendy area as a result of cross-rail and I'll be sad to say goodbye to it.
