Some words from the owners:
What do you love most about your home/property?
The House:
Our favourite feature is the vaulted ceiling and mezzanine which creates a double height living room. This area has an amazing sense of space and thus the house feels open and communal while also being a practical 3-bedroom home. The mezzanine office is a great place to work from home, with views out over Larkhall Park. The private garden backs directly onto the park and is a peaceful haven.
The grounds:
We love the fact the house is inside a gated development, so it is very secure and quiet as it's away from any street noise. It's great to have your own private off-street parking on the driveway directly outside your front door and plenty of space for visitors to park within the grounds.
Why are you selling?
We are a family of five with 3 young girls, the oldest of whom is approaching teenage years, so we are reluctantly having to look for more space. We will be staying in the area as we have lived here for 17 years and couldn't imagine living anywhere else.
What do you love about the area?
It feels like the perfect balance of old and new London. Within our conservation area there is a great sense of community and the neighbours are very respectful and sociable (if you want to get involved there are regular drinks and social events). The local pub on the corner (The Priory Arms) is a fantastic free house famous for its incredible selection of beer and quiz nights. Then of course there's the redevelopment of Nine Elms with The Power Station and its fab selection of luxury shops, riverside dining and bars, plus pop-up food markets. A wide promenade traces the River Thames' embankment, and stalls at the wholesale New Covent Garden Market are piled high with fruit, vegetables, and flowers. There a huge selection of bars, cafes and restaurant from the fashionable like Derby's (a NYC style oyster bar and Grill) and the Alchemist cocktail bar to famous Victorian Gastro pubs like the Canton Arms, regularly voted the best Sunday lunch in London and the Fentiman Arms nearby.
Priory Grove School is also a great place for families, with its close proximity to Larkhall Park and Oasis Adventure playground. There are also several Ofsted outstanding schools within walking distance.
