Full description

This stunning 966 square foot 2 bed garden flat situated in an attractive Victorian property is available through Nested. Internally, the flat benefits from two large double bedrooms with high ceilings and plenty of character, a modern bathroom, cellar, and a stunning open plan living/ kitchen area which leads onto a South West facing private garden filled with style and charm.

Upon entering, you are greeted with a spacious entrance hall with wall panelling as a feature and the two large double bedrooms which offer plenty of space for large wardrobes, chest of drawers and a sizeable desk for those looking to work from home. The main bedroom is extremely light due its large sash windows fitted with shutters. The second bedroom features a stunning ceiling rose, period coving and a tiled fireplace hearth. The bathroom is modern, clean and spacious and hosts a separate shower and bath tub. Off the hall is a 110 square foot cellar- perfect for storage. At the rear of the house you'll find an extended and large open plan kitchen with plenty of room for a large dining table to host family and friends and the living area with wood flooring and an exposed brick wall. With plenty of windows and skylights this room is flooded with natural light. Concertina doors from the living area lead out to the private garden which has been tastefully thought out and perfect for that summer BBQ. Bamboo lines the rear boundary to add an exotic feel to this paradise garden.

Killyon Road is located moments from Clapham Old Town which offers a huge choice of fashionable cafes, bars, restaurants, high street shops, a cinema and leisure facilities. Wandsworth Road Overground is located a short 2 minute walk away and Clapham North Underground is nearby providing direct links to the City, the West End and outer London.

Words from the owner:

What do you love most about your home?
I love the fact that you can be sitting in the living room or cooking and entertaining in the kitchen, whatever time of year or whatever the weather, and feel completely relaxed because you are always in view of the lush green garden. The garden blends into the living area seamlessly making the already large flat feel even larger. It wasn't uncommon for friends seeing the flat for the first time being astounded at how big it actually is.

Both bedrooms being bright due to the large sash windows and high ceilings feel extremely spacious and homely. Whether you use the second bedroom as purely a bedroom or bedroom and office or just an office (I've done this all over the years!) it is a nice choice to have. Anything you don't want to store in the bedrooms can also be conveniently stored in the sealed cellar accessible from the hallway.

Why are you moving?
I'm moving because I've got a place in the countryside in Wales and I'm going to be spending more time there and travelling and don't need a place in London anymore. I've spent 12 years in this flat and I've got a huge number of amazing memories with family and friends. It's time for the flat to become someone else's amazing home in their new chapter in their life.

What do you love about the area?
I love that the flat is close enough to central London to get into Soho by public transport (within 25 min) … because let's face it Soho is still the hub of choice for many catch ups with friends due to the plethora of restaurants, shows and theatres. At the same time, the flat is only a 10 min walk away from Clapham Common and the Old Town with all the restaurants, pubs and shops which have become much more upmarket over the past few years. The area has a great vibrancy to it because of the Common and the Old Town and it brings everyone together whether it be picnics in summer or taking your dog for a long walk or going for a run or playing sports with mates. With Clapham Junction about 10 min by bus / car it's easy to connect via train to all parts of London and the Wandsworth train station even gets you to Shoreditch in 30 minutes or even to Canary Wharf (Canada Water then one stop on the Jubilee line). In short, the flat is conveniently located to access many parts of London including Battersea Power Station from the new Nine Elms extension to the Northern Line just down the road towards Vauxhall.
