Full description

Accommodation comprises entrance via the ground floor with stairs rising to the first floor landing with inbuilt storage and door through into the bright and spacious reception room with feature front aspect bay, period style coving, attractive wood flooring and ornate cast iron fireplace with tiled insert. To the rear of the property there is a separate well-equipped kitchen, with door out onto a decked terrace with stairs leading down to a paved section of garden. The kitchen itself comprises a modern range of matching cornflower blue wall and base units with quartz work surfaces incorporating an American fridge-freezer, inset belfast sink unit with a hot tap, water filter and insinkerator, gas hob with overhead extractor and electric oven, integrated washer, dryer, dishwasher and in-built microwave oven, with ample storage space.

The first floor also accommodates two well sized bedrooms, with front and rear aspect respectively, plus a family bathroom with white three-piece suite.

To the second floor, beautifully converted from the former loft, there is an inviting master bedroom with dual rear aspect windows, skylight, inbuilt storage, and access to a stylish shower room with skylight window. Additional space in the eaves offers scope for further extension subject to the usual planning permissions being sought.

The property offers excellent public transport links from Wimbledon Chase station, with further stations at nearby Raynes Park, South Wimbledon (northern line) and Wimbledon (District line, Tramlink services, South West and Southern train lines), with overground and underground rail services providing unrivalled links into Central London. Numerous regular bus services provide useful links to the surrounding area, and the Tramlink service runs from central Wimbledon connecting Beckenham and Croydon.

The property also lies in close proximity to supermarkets (Tesco, Co-op) and local amenities including coffee shops (Costa and Starbucks), parks (Dundonald Park and John Innes Park), public library (Raynes Park), gyms/leisure centres (Anytime Fitness and David Lloyds) and the Nelson Medical Centre. Wimbledon itself, just a short distance away, offers an array of fashionable shops, bars, restaurants and amenities, including an Odeon cinema. The area is also well served by leisure facilities including golf courses and tennis clubs.

As well as a number of lovely neighbouring open spaces, the property also lies in the catchment area of excellent local primary and secondary schools, including the OFSTED outstanding rated Wimbledon Chase Primary.

Comments from the owner:

What do you love most about your home?

We had seen a number of properties on this street before we zeroed in on this one only because we loved the fact that it offered a unique feeling of space, light and living similar to a house while paying the modest price of a flat. The unique location and end-of-terrace aspect of the property offered a lot of additional internal (larger than average living rooms on this street, high ceilings) and external space(serves as useful storage space), including rear access to the side-alley, allowing access to bikes and storage spaces without having to go through the main entrance.

The second and most important aspect of our flat is the unique, extended terrace that allows us to dine outside or entertain friends, bringing the outdoors quite conveniently to your doorstep.

Why are you moving?

With our kids getting older, we feel the need for more outdoor space, which is the only reason why we have decided to move.

What do you love about the area?

Apart from the proximity to schools and transport links (both overground and underground links into central/northern London and Gatwick/Heathrow airport), we love the strong sense of community in the neighbourhood, whether it is the friendly meeting points at Costa coffee shop or the local supermarkets, safe bike paths to Wimbledon/Raynes Park and beyond, fun football sessions with friends at the local parks and playgrounds (John Innes, Dundonald), ease of access to tennis courts (Wilton, John Innes) and David Lloyds Leisure centre- it's all quite friendly, community-oriented and conveniently located.

We love that our home offers everything at our doorstep in order to work, relax, socialise and enjoy the lush, green spaces that Wimbledon offers without going too far into suburbia.
