Full description
This striking 1 bedroom apartment is completely unique in its location, decorative finish and layout. Purchased as a warehouse unit by the current owner in 2018 and converted along with its neighbours to a residential apartment, from the moment you walk in it is clear that no expense was spared during its creation.
Upon entry, you're greeted with an open plan living space that is perfect for entertaining. It features unique light fixtures reclaimed from the film industry, floor to ceiling windows, custom banquette seating and a kitchen that can be hidden behind bespoke cabinetry.
Moving towards the bedroom, there is a cloakroom and separate en-suite bathroom with both shower and bathtub. The bedroom itself is spacious with hidden storage and a smart glass door for privacy or natural light depending on the situation.
Further benefits include ducted air conditioning for both heating and cooling, access to secure parking for an additional fee, and hardwood floors throughout.
The flat itself is located on a corner plot looking out directly onto Ransomes Dock and the far end of Albert Bridge via the outdoor patio. Stepping out of the front door, you are moments from Battersea Park and the River Thames. Taking a walk across Albert Bridge will take you to Chelsea and the King's Road in a little over ten minutes.
Parkgate Road offers fantastic options for eating and drinking, including the acclaimed Nutbourne Bar and Restaurant and The Oak SW11. Day-to-day practicalities are taken care of by a variety of local stores including Bayley & Sage in Parkgate Road and a Co-op, butcher, Italian Deli, post office, dry cleaners and chemist on Battersea Bridge Road.
Direct transport links are available into central London via various bus routes on Battersea Bridge Road and a couple of Santander Cycles docking stations close by. Clapham Junction is easily accessible by bus or by foot. The River Boat is accessible from Cadogan Pier just over Albert Bridge or from Battersea Power Station on the other side of the park, taking you to the O2 arena in 20 minutes.
Words from the owner
What do you love most about your home?
I think the home reflects both new and old very well by combining the history of the dock with all that is fresh and modern. The brick work, the canal view and the concrete is the way it was 150 years ago, whilst the open-play layout and high spec finish are very modern day. The combination of the two makes for a unique and enjoyable environment to live in.
Why are you moving?
I love the area and the flat, but am moving locally in order to upsize for when my children move back to London after university.
What do you love about the area?
I have lived in the area for 30 years and will stay here - the park is amazing and the river is even more so. It still amazes me what's on my doorstep - where else in London can you get a 20 minute water taxi to the O2, walk down the Kings Road, eat in fantastic restaurants of south London, and visit a beautifully maintained park within 5 mins of leaving home?
