OWNERS COMMENTS:

What do you love most about your home?

We love the light and airy open plan living area which we've completely refurbished to create a relaxing space. Being on the first floor with large windows, we have a fabulous outlook towards the leafy grounds of St Mary's Church and the prestigious Sands Films costume studio housed in the historic building across the road. It's a view you never get tired of and one that made this flat stand out for us. We also love the way our new kitchen blends in seamlessly with its integrated appliances, curved end unit and practical features such as the pull-out larder cupboard. We've been really pleased with the Karndean flooring too, which continues into the hallway and adds to a sense of spaciousness. Access to a unique roof terrace (with the permission of the restaurant below) has been an added bonus. We've had lavender and herbs growing there and it's the perfect place to sit out and enjoy the evening sun.

What do you love about the area?

The quiet, cobbled street ambience of Rotherhithe Village was a real selling point for us when we bought the flat which is only moments away from the Mayflower pub, the oldest on the Thames, and the Thames Path which leads to some lovely riverside walks.

There's a wealth of little parks nearby which are great for families, as well as Southwark Park, and an abundance of cute coffee shops. We particularly love the Watchhouse Cafe in St Mary's Churchyard Gardens who source the most amazing doughnuts from Brick Lane every morning - a must-try! The Brunel Museum opposite hosts the Midnight Apothecary, a fun and vibrant cocktail bar - but don't worry, they finish up quietly and in good time! The flat is super close to Rotherhithe Overground station which makes getting around and out of London really easy. Albion Street primary school (Ofsted Outstanding) and GP surgery are also just over the road.
