Set on the lower and raised ground floors of an attractive Victorian building is this charming split-level two bedroom maisonette with a large private garden. What the seller says: What attracted me most to the flat is how bright and airy it is, and what I still love about it is the light we get flooding in from the large windows. I also love the garden, where we grow our own fruit and veg and have spent many a summer's evening with friends. Despite being so central, the garden is such a quiet and tranquil spot, a calming oasis in the middle of a busy city. Why are you selling? We are moving because we need more space after having two children. What do you love most about the area? We are in the middle of some of South London’s great parks Burgess Park, Kennington Park and Myatt’s Fields. All offer tennis courts, great cafes and are just lovely places to spend a lazy afternoon. We love Fowlds cafe and Louis Louis for coffee and catch up with friends, and the bars and restaurants of Camberwell Green. It is great for transport, with Kennington and Oval tube stations both 12 minutes away, and you can get a bus pretty much anywhere in London from either Walworth Road or Camberwell New Road. There is a great sense of community here too, with a street festival every summer, trick or treating, film nights, pot luck evenings and just general neighbourhood friendliness. We also love that the street is a dead-end so it is quiet and hardly any traffic. The street feels like a little pocket of calm in the hustle of London.
