The Drift is a charming cottage with spacious accommodation and exceptional far-reaching countryside views from every window, some stretching over 10 miles! Less than 10 minutes stroll away is the very popular local pub, The Hunter's Rest; both Clutton Primary School and the corner shop can be reached on foot within 25 minutes and there are endless country walks and cycle paths available on your doorstep. Despite its stunning rural location, the village is equidistant from Bath and Bristol, each of which are a short 20 minute drive and the A37, A39 and M5 are all within quick and easy reach.
The cottage has a pretty frontage with manageable garden complete with small pond. Walking up the garden path and through the front door, you are greeted by an inviting and handy entrance hall which leads into the lounge area. The lounge is spacious, with a recently installed wood burning stove set into a large stone fireplace. Large alcoves sit to each side, perfect for conversion into bookcases. Through the lounge is the well presented kitchen with wonderful views over the hills beyond.
Up the first set of stairs is the family bathroom, complete with bath and shower, and good sized double bedroom which together with the sizeable master bedroom above, boast majoestic views of the Mendip hills all the way across to the historic city of Wells.
On the third floor is a landing, the perfect reading nook, which leads on to the 2nd bedroom and the bright and airy, double-windowed master bedroom which can easily fit a king sized bed.
Outside, aside from the fantastic views!, there is off-street parking for two vehicles.
THE LOCATION
Clutton Hill is a small village with a rich history, home to several historic buildings, some dating as far back as the 12th century, and surrounded by stunning countryside. From The Drift, lush, sprawling countryside views stretch over 10 miles across to Wells and beyond.
Clutton has a strong community with its own, highly active Facebook page and WhatsApp group. The popular local pub, The Hunters Rest is a short 10 mins stroll away, Broadoak Cider Co. cider mill is still closer, whilst the celebrated The Pig restaurant is a 5 minute drive. Perfect for all of your essentials, the family run SPAR at High Littleton is easily reached by foot in less than 20 minutes, whilst there is a choice of supermarkets in Midsomer Norton within 15 mins drive.
An ideal location for outdoor enthusiasts, there are numerous walking and cycling routes nearby, including the Strawberry Line, a popular cycling and walking trail that runs from Yatton to Cheddar. Chew Valley Lake, home to a variety of bird species is one of a number of natures reserves that dot the area. For flying enthusiasts, Clutton Hill Airstrip, home to the Wessex Aero Club, is just around the corner from the property.
TRANSPORT LINKS
Despite its rural location, Clutton Hill is well connected with fast and easy access to the A37 into Bristol, A39 into Bath and the M5 motorway. Roughly equidistant from Bath and Bristol, each can be reached by car within 20 minutes. Bath Spa University is a 15 minute drive. There are regular buses from Clutton village into both Bath and Bristol.
