This characterful property has been stylishly refurbished. It is made up of two good sized double bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a lovely open plan kitchen/living room which opens out to a private garden. The flat also benefits from excellent storage and it has its own front door. What the owner says: What do you love most about your home? I love how it unexpectedly opens out into a quiet living space at the back of the flat, leading on to the garden. This can feel like a real haven amidst the energy and bustle of Brixton. There′s a large white wall in the living room which, thanks to a projector, transforms the space into your own movie theatre. The bedrooms are a good size, too, leaving plenty of space for books, bikes and everything else. Quite recently we put in a new bathroom, boiler and electrics so I′m also rather fond of everything working as it should! Why are you moving? After 10 years or so in Brixton, we′re finally making the move back to New Zealand to be closer to family. It′s going to be really hard to leave. What do you love about the area? I love that we′re so close to one of London′s most beautiful and distinctive parks. It′s been such a highlight of our time here, from picking blackberries in the autumn, to swimming in Brockwell Lido, playing tennis and cricket, hurtling around the BMX track, going on the odd rather reluctant run, welcoming new batches of ducklings and goslings each summer, exploring the secret Victorian garden, enjoying fireworks and music festivals, and on and on. There′s also a really lovely local community here, a sweet pub (that closes at a reasonable hour) across the road, as well as a corner shop, cafe, record store and post office! If you′re into nightlife, good coffee and eating out, there are loads of options in the area. The kids have had the benefit of good nurseries and schools nearby, too. I mean, basically, we′ve loved it here and will be really sad to go.
