What do you love most about your home? I love that our home is so central. It has great transport links (18 mins to central London) and accessibility, but it's also set back from the road so quiet and private. It's light and airy, so when the sun comes through the windows in the morning I can eat breakfast inside or outside on the patio listening to the birds. It feels very spacious for a one bedroom flat, many visitors comment how large the rooms are considering its location and parking facilities in central London. It's a really friendly and safe area, everyone in this block looks out for each other so it feels like a comfortable atmosphere. That's the benefit of a smaller, two storey block. Grace Miller, our property management agents, look after the block so well and reasonably, the weekly cleaning and gardening makes it feel clean and homely all the time. Now that we've collected money for a new roof, it'll be even nicer.




Why are you moving? We are moving because my husband has found a new job further away.




What do you love about the area? The newly pedestrianised Old York Road has loads of great independent shops and restaurants, with regular street festivals It's so well placed for amenities generally, all around us we have numerous independent coffee shops and restaurants within minutes walking. We also have the Thames close by and lots of parks, so lots of places to wander. Gyms and a main Shopping centre within walking distance, once I purchased a whole wedding outfit on the morning of the wedding! There are plenty of good pubs nearby, our favourite is the Cat's Back which is local, friendly and does a roast better than homemade. When we have visitors there are plenty of different choices to eat and drink between local, chains, large, small, fancy or relaxed. The transport links here are superb, 8 minutes' walk to the train into Central London and the District line the other way. It's a short bus ride, or longer walk, to Clapham Junction, which takes you to most places across the UK. It's also next to the A3, so really easy for driving. There is the added option of a boat to central London and the East, which was very helpful during TFL strikes and a lovely way to commute.
