Full description

With 3 bedrooms, a family bathroom, reception room with bespoke shelving and contemporary kitchen-dining room with doors leading onto a private garden, this home is perfectly appointed for the growing family. The property also benefits from a ground floor WC and a loft (which could be converted to additional accommodation, subject to planning permission).

Schooling is well provided for, with Shaftesbury Park and John Burns primary schools both within a 5-minute walk, and the renowned Eaton House independent school, the Ofsted 'Outstanding'-rated Macaulay CoE Primary School, and the Lycee-linked Ecole de Wix, all within a 15-minute walk.

For leisure, the open green spaces of Clapham Common and Battersea Park are within walking distance, whilst the mixture of independent and well-known restaurants, cafes, bars and shops in Lavender Hill, Clapham Old Town and Battersea Power Station are also easily accessible.

Day-to-day practicalities are taken care of by a Coop Food store on Lavender Hill, whilst public transport is available from both Queenstown Road (5 mins to Waterloo), Battersea Park (5 mins to Victoria) and Clapham Junction (2 stops to Gatwick Airport) train stations, many bus routes, and close-by Santander Cycles docking stations with cycle super -highway into Central London.

Some words from the owner

What do you love most about your home?

We love the feel of our home - as soon as you open the door from a peaceful residential street in the heart of Battersea and walk into the warmth of a NZ beach house - with the feature of 'waxed floors" in chalk grey, the weathered tone of intense grey colour with white pigments in the grain, make the room feel inviting and calm.

Everything is light and bright, with large windows and bespoke floor-to-ceiling built-in shelving displays making the reception room feel spacious and sophisticated. The front room leads into a large kitchen-dining area with double french doors opening out onto the rear patio garden, perfect for indoor/ outdoor living and entertaining in summer. The rooms on the first floor are cosy with 'Anna May of Fulham' French-style decorative antique custom built wardrobes. We also had a bespoke 'linen cupboard' tucked neatly on the landing. The third bedroom is the perfect size for a toddler/ nursery room or home office.

We also love that we are close to great schools, Heathbrook Primary, Macaulay CofE, Wix along with the local Shaftesbury Park primary.

Why are you moving?

We're moving the countryside - we've loved living here, but have been planning a move for a while and now we are no longer working in our London office it feels like the perfect time.

What do you love about the area?

For us the best thing about this location is being within walking distance of all the restaurants, bars and shops at the Battersea Power Station, including the Coaling Jetty, along with being in the beautiful Shaftesbury Park Conservation Area. The Shaftesbury Estate is its own little cosmos of living, where everybody knows your name, friendly neighbors - most having lived here all their lives.

We're also lucky to be close to Battersea Park, Clapham Common, various local coffee shops, bars, restaurants and supermarkets, along with the Battersea Arts Centre.

Location is 10 min walk to Clapham Junction (2 stops to Gatwick Airport), and 10min walk to Queenstown Road (5 mins to Waterloo) stations. It's also very easy to get across the river to Chelsea and the Kings Road/Sloane Square on the 137 or 452 bus.
