Full description

A beautiful 3 double bedroom flat in excellent condition with the opportunity to extend (stpp), situated a short walk from Clapham Common, Northcote Road and Clapham Junction station.

With 3 double bedrooms (one en-suite), family bathroom, reception room with bespoke shelving and contemporary kitchen-dining room, this home is perfectly appointed for young professionals or the growing family. The property also benefits from an additional WC, recently installed boiler, double glazing throughout, and the possibility for the addition of a roof terrace or extra accommodation, subject to planning permission.

For leisure, the open green spaces of Clapham Common and Battersea Park are within walking distance, whilst the mixture of independent and well-known restaurants, cafes, bars and shops on Northcote Road, Lavender Hill, and Clapham Old Town are also easily accessible.

Day-to-day practicalities are taken care of by a large superstore less than 2 minutes by foot from the flat, whilst public transport is available from Clapham Junction train station (5-minute walk, then 5-minutes into Waterloo, 25-minutes direct to Gatwick Airport), many bus routes, and close-by Santander Cycles docking stations with cycle super -highway into Central London.

Schooling is well provided for, with Shaftesbury Park, John Burns and Chesterton primary schools all within a 10-15-minute walk, and the renowned Eaton House independent school, the Ofsted 'Outstanding'-rated Macaulay CoE Primary School, and the Lycee-linked Ecole de Wix, all within a 20-minute walk.

Some words from the owner

What do you love most about your home?

The flat is very spacious and with every bedroom on a different floor , each with its own toilet/bathroom, it means there is space for multiple people to have privacy as and when they need it. It has been great for us having guests stay and feel welcome and not on top of us. Added to this we have the kitchen and living room on the middle floor, providing ample space for us to dine and relax together amongst high ceilings and period features.

The flat benefits from a lot of natural light. This is due to the number and size of windows in the flat - there are 2 windows at the landing ceiling by the principal bedroom which keeps the landing brighter than usual. Additionally the flat has an unusually open outlook, with just a school building that has been converted to luxury apartments some way away. Because of this you have a great view - you can see across London through the large windows in the principal bedroom

The building is also end of terrace and the windows are all high quality and double glazed, meaning it's very quiet and we barely hear anything, creating a lovely serene environment in an action packed location!

Why are you moving?

We moved in over 5 years ago with a 2 week old baby and it has been the perfect set up for us as a young professional family. We're now looking for a bit of extra space to accommodate our family growing in size!

What do you love about the area?

Dorothy Road benefits from a lot of unique locational advantages. Being a 5 minute walk from Clapham Junction enables an easy commute, city shopping trips, and weekend trips out to the countryside. We never needed a car in this location which was quite liberating and good for the environment! Not to mention Clapham Junction takes you across into West and East London via the overground and extensive bus network.

Dorothy Road is also within a 10 minute walk of Clapham Common, Wandsworth Common and Battersea Park (including the River Thames), allowing us to enjoy all 3 and not get bored of one park. In terms of retail options, we were blessed with a 24 hour superstore on our doorstep - something you don't normally get to enjoy in London. Battersea's restaurants, bars, pubs and shops are varied, with Northcote Road also a 10 minute walk away, meaning most friends came to us!

For those with kids, the playground on our road is a lifesaver, and there are a lot of outstanding nurseries and schools in the area.
