What do you love most about your home? We've absolutely loved being here. I lived here on my own for the first few years, and then as a couple for the last two. The balcony is a favourite spot. It's west-facing so it gets loads of sun in the afternoon and it's a great place to entertain friends or just sit and admire views of the Shard.
The kitchen is great for cooking as a couple or with friends, and the flat's really well suited to having both of us work from home. We love how energy efficient and quiet it is too - it's so well insulated that we never need to put the heating on, and there is no noise from adjoining flats.
Why are you moving? Just to upsize.
What do you love about the area? We couldn't have wished for a better location. Even after 5 years we're still discovering new walking paths, parks and excellent coffee spots!
The flat is a minute walk from Burgess Park, the largest park in Southwark, with tennis courts, a café, a gorgeous lake and a peaceful walking route into Peckham. We're a 10 minute walk from Camberwell Green and Walworth Road, which are both really vibrant and boast a wide choice of excellent restaurants, bars and shops. We're a 5 minute walk from Zeret Kitchen's Ethiopian food and ten from Silk Road's Chinese food or Good Neighbour's wine and cocktails.
The location is very well connected to the rest of London. A 5 minute walk from the flat takes you to frequent buses going in all directions. If you need the tube, there are buses to Elephant and Castle (1.3 miles from the flat) every few minutes, and Denmark Hill overground is 0.8 miles away. I've loved being able to walk to work, with Waterloo, Westminster and London Bridge all reachable within an hour's stroll.
Accommodation comprises entrance hall with two inbuilt storage units, leading into the bright and spacious, open plan reception/kitchen with direct access onto the delightful enclosed private balcony and ample space for both relaxing and dining. The kitchen area comprises a modern range of matching wall and base units with work surfaces incorporating inset sink unit, electric hob with overhead extractor and electric oven below, and further space for appliances. There is a generously sized double bedroom, with full height double glazed window and plenty of space for free-standing furniture, plus a stylish bathroom with white three piece suite and elegant tiling.
The property is conveniently located within easy access of numerous regular bus routes providing cross-London links to the surrounding area, as well as railway stations at nearby Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye, Kennington, Oval and Elephant and Castle. The area is well served by an array of vibrant shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as the pleasant open spaces of Burgess Park just a minute away. Camberwell Green itself offers regular Farmer's Markets, with Peckham Rye also nearby for a great selection of music venues and eateries.
