Comments from the owner:

What do you love most about your home? The most amazing thing about our home is the south-facing garden at the back. Our lounge just basks in sun all year round. We've got double sliding doors in the lounge so when the weather's warm we can open them and the garden literally becomes an extension of the room. Our garden is a lovely sun trap and we often have breakfast there in the spring, summer and early autumn. As we're on a little off street, our flat and garden are very quiet.
Since being in the flat we've converted the lower ground floor into our bedroom. It's a really peaceful space, which keeps the same temperature all year round so is a nice fresh haven on hot days. It's also so well sound insulated that we don't hear a thing and sleep really well. Having transferred our bedroom downstairs, means that we have pretty much the entire ground floor as living space, with a choice between two key living areas, our kitchen / diner and our lounge. We find that we can always find our own space in this flat, even if it's three of us living in it.

Why are you moving? We're moving because we'd like our son to experience living in another country. We're a Franco-British family and have decided to go and do a stint of living in France.

What do you love about the area? We love the fact that we're right in between the nice cafés and shops of Lordship Lane and the bars and restaurants of Bellenden Road and the Bussey building area. All our favourite spots are within 5/10 minutes' walk. Our favourite cafés are Oru on Lordship Lane and Old Spike on Rye Lane. Their coffees are just outstanding. Restaurant-wise, our regular go to are Forza, Levant and Tonkutsu near Peckham Rye train station. They've all done delivery and take away options during the pandemic, which has been fantastic. For drinks, we've always liked going to the East Dulwich Tavern or have a couple of cocktails at Zapoi on Rye Lane.

On Saturdays, we love doing our food shopping at North Cross Road market, SMBS food, Moxons and La Cave de Bruno. We've been going there for over eight years and have got to know all shop owners very well. They've all seen our son grow.

The area is perfect for young couples but also young families with plenty of kids friendly cafes and restaurants on Lordship Lane.

We're also a 2 minute walk away from Peckham Rye park and this has been amazing in lockdown. It's literally been an extension of our garden. At the weekend, we've also liked going on walks to Nunhead cemetery and Dulwich Park. This area is just fantastic and with so much on our doorstep, we've felt really lucky to have lived here.
