Comments from the owner:
What do you love most about your home?
The original Victorian features including the large ceiling roses and wooden window shutters, and the back garden, which has a beautiful cherry blossom tree. It's our sanctuary and a great space in the summer months for drinks and lunch/dinner outside.
The high ceilings and large windows in the lounge make it a naturally bright room with plenty of space for entertaining friends and relaxing in the evenings.
As a young family, the basement is incredibly useful for storage and there is scope to develop it further to extend the living space.
Why are you moving?
We have a young child and are leaving the area to be closer to family.
What do you love about the area?
We have absolutely loved living in this area - you have your pick of the parks (and playgrounds) in all directions. Finsbury Park is at the end of our road, Woodberry Wetlands is a haven for wildlife, coffee at The Coal House and a walk around the reservoirs, and Clissold Park and Stoke Newington Church Street are nearby too.
The transport connections from Manor House and Finsbury Park are excellent, offering Piccadilly line, Victoria line and Overground services (Thameslink to St Pancras International and on to Brighton, and Great Northern into the City) and regular bus routes at the end of the road.
There is no shortage of cafés, restaurants, shops and pubs close by - our favourites are Fink's (and their Dusty Knuckle morning buns!) on Mountgrove Road and Beam on Blackstock Road for generous brunches and welcoming staff. There's a great sense of community on our road and the surrounding streets, and that's only been strengthened during lockdown. The roads are closed to through traffic, which makes the whole Brownswood neighbourhood really tranquil.
Superbly maintained and appointed, this stunning Victorian conversion flat boasts a wealth of period features, including high ceilings, ornate detailing and beautiful wooden window shutters, whilst also having been sympathetically enhanced with stylish interiors and high quality finish throughout. Accommodation comprises entrance hall with access down to the useful under-hall cellar area (ideal for storage or possible conversion, STPP), leading into the bright and spacious reception room with wood flooring, tall front aspect square bay with wooden shutters, and ample space for both relaxing and dining. The separate kitchen comprises a modern range of matching wall and base units with work surfaces incorporating inset sink unit, gas hob with overhead extractor and electric oven below, and further space for appliances. There are two well sized bedrooms, with quiet rear aspect to the master, and double doors leading out onto the wonderful mature garden from the second bedroom. A stylish family bathroom with white three piece suite and elegant tiling completes the generous accommodation.
The property is very conveniently located within just a short walk of both Finsbury Park and Manor House stations, each offering unrivalled cross-London connections, as well as regular bus routes linking the surrounding area. Seven Sisters Road and Holloway Road are both within a short distance, offering an array of shops, bars, restaurants and amenities, as well as fashionable Stoke Newington. The beautiful open spaces of Finsbury Park and the Woodberry Wetlands are also close-by.
Viewings of this beautiful property are highly recommended.
