We fell in love with the original wooden floorboards when we first saw the flat, we restored them and uncovered even more when we moved in and love the high ceilings that make the flat feel a lot more spacious as well as the new made-to-order double glazed sash windows we put in. We also love the community feel in Gibson Gardens, the neighbours are lovely and there are plenty of activities, like summer parties, concerts, and even now a free mini library within the development. Why are you moving? We bought the flat when we both worked in the City- the commute is ideal (25mins by bus, straight line on the 76 with the stop right outside) or overground when we were in a rush (~15mins). Now we both work in the West and despite the overground providing a good connection to the Victoria line, we need something that is a bit more convenient. What do you love about the area? The location is fantastic, the bus stop right outside into the City, behind us is the overground station and Church Street with a wide choice of quirky cafes and artsy shops is less than 5 minutes by foot. We also particular love having Abney Park right opposite as we love taking our dogs there, a quiet oasis in the city. The dry cleaner at the corner (Ozzy's) knows everyone and we love the community and villagey feel of Gibson Gardens and the surrounding shops, people know and greet each other with a smile.
