Owners Comments: What do you love about your home? We viewed a lot of properties in the area before falling in love with this one. It stood out because of the garden size, original features and the way the previous owners looked after it. We have made changes to make it work for us, but there's still lots of potential to extend and create more space as others on the road have done. What changes have you made to the property? It was already in great condition, with lots of original features so we wanted to be sympathetic but practical. With a child, it made sense to make the galley kitchen into a lovely kitchen-diner, we spend most of our time in there as it's a real social space with the big doors opening to the garden. We also completely overhauled the garden, simplifying it and creating more areas for entertaining. Last year we added some built-in wardrobes to the main bedroom which we absolutely love. Finally, we've added a radiator to the third bedroom and replaced the boiler with a modern internet-enabled combi. What do you love about this area? Great connections into the city (even with Crossrail yet to come) combined with a chilled local vibe and loads of outdoor green space. The local pub offers an array of craft beer and a huge beer garden, as well as a monthly street market. The Abbey Ruins, Southmere Lake and Thames path offer an endless supply of running routes and entertainment for our little one.
