We initially fell in love with our flat because of how bright and airy it felt. The three main rooms all have very large windows, so there is always lots of light streaming through. Despite the big windows, it has to be one of the few flats in Highbury that isn't overlooked, so it has a very private and safe feel and makes the terrace an oasis of calm. Speaking of the terrace, we love it and have spent many a summer evening outside hosting friends and family! We also recently renovated the bathrooms, we'll miss feeling like we're in a hotel every time we go for a shower! Last but not least, our parking space has come in very handy over the years for family and friends coming from out of London and lately for our own car - a definite luxury in central London! Why are you moving? We have recently had a new addition to our family so we are moving out of London to be closer to free child care (the grandparents!). What do you love about the area? Definitely our favourite part about living here is the local area! On Drayton Park itself there is a great bar called the Highbury Library, we now count the owners Jo and Andy as friends! You also have the acclaimed Westerns Laundry less than 5 minutes walk away. Within a 10 minute walk there are countless cafes and restaurants, La Fromagerie (cheese toasties), Franks Canteen (amazing brunch) and Salt the Radish (great coffee from the hatch) are a few of our favourites. The flat is also less than 5 minutes walk from Highbury Fields, a wonderful and family-friendly park, great for meeting friends, filled with runners, dog-walkers and sports facilities (tennis, football, boot camps, etc.), and also a perfect venue for a sunbathe or barbecue in the summer. Our favourite cafe, La Peche Mignon, is tucked away down the side of the Fields. You are also so well connected here. Drayton Park station is a 2 minute walk, and this will take you into the City in 10 minutes (we have valued this commute!), Arsenal (Piccadilly line) and Highbury & Islington (Victoria/overground lines) stations are short walks away so you can be anywhere in London within 20-30 minutes. Not to mention being 15 minutes walk from Upper Street with its myriad of shops, bars and restaurants. We are going to miss Highbury a lot!
