Shakespeare House is an attractive modern block on this residential road at the heart of Hackney. One of only 18 apartments in this elegantly transformed 1930s building, it was shortlisted in 2014 for the Sustainable Housing Awards as well as Hackney Design Awards. This spacious bright top floor flat offers airy living space with wooden floors and large west facing picture windows, a great place to sit and watch the sun setting in the evenings. Leading onto the modern fitted kitchen area and private roof terrace. The bedroom is a great size, further benefits from a picture window and is flooded with natural light from its westerly view.
Lyme Grove is situated between Hackney central and London Fields National Rail links. Hackney is a vibrant cosmopolitan area with a plethora of cool bars, restaurants and shops. This property is walking distance to several green spaces, the closest being London Fields. London Fields offers the only 50 metre heated lido in London, a cricket pitch, tennis courts and an outdoor gym as well as a multi-use games area, playgrounds and summertime meadow, while Victoria Park has a boating lake, Sunday Market and also hosts a number of renowned music festivals in the summer. The area is very well connected, with fast Overground links and numerous buses to Central London. Hackney is the cycling capital of London, and London Fields offers a wide variety of traffic-free routes via the canal towpath (to Islington or Stratford and beyond) or many green spaces. The City is a mere ten minute cycle or 30 minute walk away.

What do you love most about your home? We love how well located and peaceful the flat is. Looking out onto a quiet pedestrianised path which is so rare in London. The huge window in the living room brings in loads of natural light, we can see the sunsetting from our sofa. There is a good community feel in the building with everyone helping each other out with post etc. The roof terrace is perfect for hosting dinner parties and growing veg as it catches the morning sunlight. Added benefits to the block are that it has a communal garden and secure internal bike storage.
Why are you moving? We are reluctantly leaving this lovely flat as we have a growing family and need an extra bedroom for our baby.
What do you love about the area? The area has so much on offer. We love getting fresh bread from E5 bakery, pastries from Pophams, and delicious cakes from violets. Broadway market, Victoria Park and London fields are minutes away. Hackney picture house is round the corner as is the food hall 'Well street market'. The flat is really well located for transport with London fields station and Hackney Central moments away. You can get to Liverpool St in under 10 mins and Highbury and islington is 3mins on the overground. There are also great bus links into central london (Q2 cycle route runs all the way from the flat).
