The thing that drew me first to my home and that has stayed with me for the 25 years that I have lived here is the sense of space, light and uplifting feeling that the house gives me every time I come home. Because the main living area is on the first floor and is open plan living, The space and height uplifts straight away. The room is flooded with light as the house benefits from and east/ west aspect so I have light from morning, throughout the day and in the evening. My double balcony is on the west side of the house overlooking our beautiful and secluded courtyard garden. There is a cherry tree outside my house that is charming throughout the seasons and also provides some added privacy. Dalston is a lively and vibrant creative hub and we have the opportunity to fully embrace the cafe life or spend time at the local cinema, visit the parks or go swimming in the outdoor lido. It is very well connected in terms of transport but also almost every destination is within a reasonable cycle ride! Why are you moving? The reason I am leaving my home is to start the next phase of my life! I will be retiring hopefully in early 2020 and want to take on another project. What do you love about the area? I have lived in this area for over forty years and have seen many changes. The massive investment in the area to support the London Olympics had the most impact to the vibrancy and connectivity of the area.
