Comments from the owner:

What do you love most about your home? Sitting at the front in the sun watching the world go by; winter honeysuckle as you come up the road; the first time I ever stepped through the door of this house, I loved the light from the top of the house to the bottom of the hall and the elegant sweep of the staircase. The house has many original features that reflect it's traditional heritage and history, which we have upgraded and sympathetically added to.. Our spacious kitchen dining room is the hub of the household where we spend hours with friends and family eating and sorting out the world, around the fire. There is lots of flexible space with office possibilities, as we now work from home, including potential basement rental income. Finally, we love our fantastic landscaped garden, perfect for breakfast, with the backdrop of trees, giving a sense of green and calm in an otherwise lively and busy environment. It has been a fantastic home for our children to grow up in.

Why are you moving? With reluctance, because we love this house and the area but as our children begin to move away to independence, we need to move out of London to give support to our parents.

What do you love about the area? Neighbours are reliable and supportive and fun. Diversity and friendliness of the street. People really help each other out. Brilliant transport, trains/buses, and easy bike access to the canal. , BLOK gym, independent cafes, restaurants, and other shops of interest, records, microbrewery, books, and bikes. Springfield Park and its arboretum which rolls down to the vibrant canal. Kingfishers, herons, swans, ducks, and much more thrive there; the boat club and Walthamstow wetlands beyond; giving a connection with the countryside; access to the Olympic Park with excellent sports facilities and the opportunity to walk to a range of international sporting events, and to swim and canoe in the reservoir. Close to Mare Street with a very good theatre and two great small music venues. Ref: ISL
