What do you love most about your home?
Having a view on the fields behind the flat makes us feel far from the noise and the hectic life in the City. The same fields are great for a run or a walk, our daughter loves it. The open plan living-room/kitchen is bright and spacious for a flat, as is the bathroom. Having a third room gave us the chance to have space to work, exercise, and a bed for the visiting grandmas.




Why are you moving?
We love the area as its family-friendly and we need to stay in the school catchment area (Downderry Primary School has an Outstanding OFSTED Rating), so we are just looking to buy a house nearby to have some extra space and potentially grow the family, and maybe a pet.




What do you love about the area?
The area comes with loads of perks, railway stations connecting us to all the major hubs in Central London (London Bridge being the fastest ride to the Tube and then Waterloo, Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Farringdon, Kings Cross), many buses to roam the area if you're not cycling yet…which will get you to the Square Mile in just the same time. The local Health and Leisure Centre across the fields is great and offers a library, cafe, GP Practice, Gym Swimming Pool, and a creche! At walking distance, we have a great selection of supermarkets and grocery shops open till late. Bromley, Beckenham and Catford High Streets are a short bus ride away for shopping, food and entertainment. Both Bromley and Lewisham Shopping Centres have a big car park if you're driving. Last but definitely not least, the green areas and parks around are stunning, with Beckenham Place Park topping the list with a wild swimming lake and many events held at the Mansion.

The ramp from the street to the entrance, room to leave the pram on the ground floor, helped us a lot in our first year as parents. The spacious bathroom with bathtub and a shower saves us a ton of time in the morning, and we recently added a vanity unit with mixer tap replacing the old basin that required the awful 'tap tennis'.
